The Abode of Clouds

India's Most Underrated Destination — and That's Part of Its Magic

Most travellers who visit Meghalaya say the same thing: "I had no idea it would be like this."

The rivers here are so transparent that the rocks beneath look close enough to touch, even from a boat. The root bridges — grown over centuries by Khasi tribespeople — are so alive they keep expanding. And Cherrapunji, one of the wettest places on Earth, rewards you with waterfalls that cascade down cliffs so tall you have to tilt your head back to see the top.

Meghalaya isn't dramatic in the way the Himalayas are. It's quieter. More intimate. The kind of place where you find yourself pulling over on a mountain road just to stare at a valley you didn't expect.

Our tours are built for travellers who want to see it properly — at a pace that lets things sink in, with a private vehicle, someone who knows the roads, and the flexibility to linger where it matters.

Available Trips

Choose Your Meghalaya Experience

From a 4-day Shillong escape to a 7-day Northeast adventure with Kaziranga safari — every package includes a private vehicle and daily breakfast. All depart from Guwahati.

Why Meet 'N' Greet Travels

We Know These Roads Better Than Most

We've been running Northeast tours for years. Here's what that experience means for your trip.

Your vehicle. Your schedule.

Every package comes with a dedicated private vehicle — no shared cabs, no waiting around for co-passengers. If you want to stop at a viewpoint for twenty minutes, you stop. Simple.

No surprise charges on arrival

What's listed in the package is what you pay. Tolls, parking, driver allowances — all included. We'll be upfront about what's not covered (entry fees, guide charges, personal expenses) so you can budget clearly.

Local knowledge that actually helps

We know which side of the Umngot River gives you the best boat photo. We know what time Nohkalikai is quietest. We know which homestay in Cherrapunji has the view that makes the whole trip. That kind of knowledge doesn't come from a brochure.

One person handles everything

From the moment you land in Guwahati to the moment you leave, you have a single point of contact. No juggling between operators, no miscommunication about who's picking you up.

We're honest about what's offseason

Kaziranga shuts down in monsoon. Some roads in Jaintia Hills get tricky after heavy rain. We'll tell you this upfront rather than let you find out at the airport.

Plan Your Trip

When Should You Go?

October – December

Post-monsoon Meghalaya is extraordinary. The hills are emerald green, the waterfalls are still full from the rains, and the skies have cleared up. October and November are widely considered the best months to visit for photography.

January – March

Cool, crisp, and very pleasant. This is peak season — roads are good, visibility is high, and the weather stays comfortable for walking and sightseeing. Book early if you're planning travel during this window.

April – May

The weather warms slightly but remains manageable. Waterfalls begin to thin out. A good time to visit before the heat builds in the rest of India.

June – September (Monsoon)

Meghalaya receives some of the highest rainfall on Earth during these months. Waterfalls are at their most dramatic and the landscape is impossibly lush — but road conditions can be unpredictable and some routes may be affected. Best for flexible travellers who don't mind a bit of rain.

Note: Kaziranga National Park is closed from May to mid-October due to monsoon flooding. Book our Kaziranga + Meghalaya package between October and April only.
